Content Marketing

Couple of years ago, in a company where I previously worked, our team of writers was called the “Content Development Team.” Writers wrote 4,000+ words a day, and sadly, we couldn’t care less whether people were reading that stuff or not. We only cared that search engine bots were indexing those pages and our websites were getting visibility and traffic from long-tailed keywords that didn’t mean anything to us.

In Spiralytics, a revolutionary company that provides digital marketing in Nottingham, UK, the USA, and the Philippines, we don’t do that anymore. I’m glad that phase is over, and now, as writers, we can actually create something with more meaning and purpose. Now we can be humans, not robots who simply put senseless keyword phrases together and try to meet word count quotas. Now we can call this process “Content Creation” instead of “Content Development.” It feels so much more artful, and less mechanical, to call this a creation process, don’t you think?

At last, it’s okay to write from the heart. To tell a story. To be personal. To write something that will inspire others, not just sell them something.

It’s an exciting time to be in the Content Marketing industry! And, since it’s the month of love, here are some inspirational quotes that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, and maybe even feel heroic for creating content for your company, your clients, or your own business.

Print them, pin them, put them in a place where you can always see. (Also, click the images if you want to share them on Pinterest!)
